Self Paced Design

This workshop is intended for both the novice and intermediate gardener, from home owners to property managers to community leaders to new niche design firms. There’s no pressure as you go at your own pace learning the basics of natural design and management.

This highly curated list of resources is geared toward the self-motivated DIY-er who’s ready to take things up a notch with more focus.

Enjoy 5 online video classes:

  • Intro to Matrix Design
  • Using Plant Sociability in Design
  • Working with Weed Codes and HOAS
  • Garden Design Tutorial
  • Natural Garden Management

As well as 5 downloadable booklets to supplement the classes:

  • Intro to Converting Lawn
  • Plant Sociability Starter List
  • Hellstrip Garden Design
  • Small Garden Design
  • Perennials for Winter

You’ll receive instructions and guidelines, as well as a base template, to create your own blueprint based on the contents from the classes and booklets to help you develop your skills. Then, you can transfer these skills to other gardens and landscapes.

This is the same methodology Benjamin uses in live garden design charrettes, but with more content and detail for you to employ at home.

"This workshop was my first attempt at a formal inquiry into garden design. Benjamin's approach to design is intuitive and natural, as is his approach to teaching. I left the workshop with confidence and some new ideas."

"Everything I had been trying to understand about native plants became clear to me the minute this workshop began. Benjamin’s information and matrix system makes it incredibly simple to do minor or major spaces."
